Dark Tobacco Operations in Brazil

Map of Brazilian tobacco growing areas CdF International Group's business in Brazil (including the business previously undertaken by Carl Leoni Ltda.) is carried out through a wholly-owned subsidiary, Fumex Tabacalera Ltda. The centerpiece of Fumex operations is a 600 acre Santa Julia Farm where it grows its own Sumatra, Bahia and Brazil Havana Wrappers. Fumex also operates 2 major factories and a number of warehouses in Cruz das Almas, Berimbau, Muritaba and Arapiraca and employs more than 1000 people during the peak season.

Tobacco Varieties
Fumex produces Wrapper, Binder and Filler tobaccos of various varieties including Brazil Sumatra, Brazil Havana, Bahia (Mata Fina, Mata Norte, Mata Sul) and Arapiraca.
